Participants of Blockchain & Bitcoin Conference Kyiv discussed the creation of regulatory sandbox and shift of registers to blockchain
On March 29, our company organized the fifth Blockchain & Bitcoin Conference Kyiv dedicated to cryptocurrencies, blockchain, and ICO. This year, a single platform brought together entrepreneurs, traders, lawyers, representatives of banking and credit institutions, marketers, founders of startups.
Conference headliners were the Minister of Infrastructure Volodymyr Omelyan, the head of the State Agency for E-Governance Oleksandr Ryzhenko, the president of the Ukrainian Investment Holding Mark Ginzburg, partner of CKR LAW LLP Gordon Einstein.
Speakers and main conference topics
For the convenience of participants, presentations were divided in two sessions: “Finance & Regulation” and “Development & Tokenization”. Specialists from Ukraine, Georgia, the UK, Germany, the USA, and Switzerland spoke at the event.
The conference was opened by the Minister of Infrastructure Volodymyr Omelyan. He reminded that Ukraine was on the list of top 14 countries of the world in terms of implementing blockchain technologies, and cryptocurrencies accounted for 2.5% of GDP – $2.5 billion.
The head of the State Agency for E-Governance Oleksandr Ryzhenko promised to finish the shift of property rights registers administered by the Ministry of Justice to the blockchain technology and smart contacts in 2018.
Cryptocurrency market data was shared by the CEO of Attic Lab Sergey Vasilchuk. He marked that the overall number of digital coins was equal to 1575. Only 45 of them have a daily turnover of more than $10 million, and the Bitcoin’s market share is 43.7%.
Panel discussion and exhibition area
The conference offered a panel discussion dedicated to the initiation of the regulatory sandbox for blockchain projects. Participants concluded that only the distributed ledger technology could beat the corruption in Ukraine and would facilitate the attraction of additional investments and the strengthening of the country’s technology potential.
Traditionally, there was an exhibition area at the event. Booths were presented by suppliers of hardware for home and industrial mining MyRig, Megahash, Asic Trade, developer of a blockchain-based game Molotov Lab, cryptocurrency exchange platform Cointed, advertising ecosystems Vreo, CoinTraffic.

From April 17 to 18, our company also held a large-scale event Blockchain Conference Moscow. In spring, Smile-Expo will organize several more blockchain events. On May 17, there will be a conference in the Czech Republic, on May 25 – in Finland, and on May 29 – in Australia. Furthermore, we are preparing a large event in London, a two-day Blockchain International Show London 2018 that will be held from June 6 to 7.
