AI in medicine: results of the major event М-Health Congress 2018
On April 3, we, Smile-Expo company, carried out the annual international М-Health Congress 2018 dedicated to mobile technologies in medicine for the fourth time.
Smile-Expo takes leading positions in event making. Every year we gather prominent Russian doctors, medical lawyers, entrepreneurs, investors as well as developers of mНealth gadgets and software.
Presentations and speakers
We invited the experts at renowned international companies to speak at М-Health Congress 2018. Among the Congress headliners, there were representatives of Yandex, IBM, the State Duma of the Russian Federation and Mail.Ru Group. The experts discussed the emerging trends in digital healthcare and ways of new IT solutions integration in medicine.
Sergey Sorokin, CEO at Interlogic and Founder at Botkin.AI, outlined two problems of AI integration in the healthcare system. Firstly, tons of data is needed for neural networks learning. Secondly, we cannot say why some AI technologies are accepted and validated by doctors while others are left aside.
Gayane Harutyunyan, Leading Architect at IBM Client Center, presented the corporation’s AI solutions for medicine and shared the achievements. For instance, Clinical Trial Matching allowed to increase the screening time of patients’ diagrams for clinical trials from 60 to 24 sec.
George Fomichev, Founder at Endurance Robots, dwelled on the chat bots application in health care. According to him, they are used for making an appointment with a doctor, calling a doctor, history taking and reminding of medication taking.
Panel discussion
М-Health Congress hosted two panel discussions dedicated to the new legal regulation of telemedicine and current tendencies in digital healthcare. Among the participants, there were Head of the “Regulation of new non-financial markets” at IIDF Alexandra Orekhovich, Head of the Expert Council for digital economy and blockchain technologies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Artem Koltsov as well as Head of the project “Health” at Mail.RU Group Evgeny Paperny.
Exhibition area
Keeping up with the traditions, we organized an exhibition area with 11 stands available during all the Congress working hours. Attendees could observe a mobile app for patients with joint disorders NeFitnes, a system for online diagnostics of Alzheimer and Parkinson diseases EyeMove as well as a telemedicine service Mobile Doctor.
