On March 6, Smile-Expo successfully held the first event in Bangkok — Blockchain & Bitcoin Conference Thailand. The conference gathered entrepreneurs and experts engaged in cryptocurrencies and blockchain tech.
We chose Bangkok since it is the largest Thai city, one of the Asia-based economical centers, a modern megapolis with a population of more than 5.5 m and a hub for dozens of crypto and blockchain companies. According to the feedback the partners gave, the conference organized by Smile-Expo became the major event of Thailand in this industry.
First and successful
More than 200 people attended the event with 16 companies presented at the exhibition area. 15 international experts in blockchain tech from 8 counties took the floor.
Within a panel discussion, which also was part of the conference, five experts discussed the legal and tax policy of Thailand towards ICO (cryptocurrency crowdsales) and prospects of their regulation. Among the speakers, there were Dr. Gordon Walker, an Emeritus Professor of Law at the La Trobe University School of Law, and Sathapon Patanakua, Founder at SmartContract Thailand and BLOCK MD.
Issues covered by the experts
The conference speakers dwelled on a range of topics related to blockchain-based solutions, projects promotion, legal aspects of blockchain and cryptocurrency inclusion, the crypto market state as well as changes in common life spheres entailed by blockchain introduction.
Joseph Tsou, Managing Director at BlockEx, dedicated his presentation to a basic concept of blockchain tech, shared information about trading and investment, ICO as well as compared conventional and crypto markets.
Cal Evans, Lawyer and Cryptocurrency Compliance Expert at Gresham International, told about a legal aspect of blockchain projects.
