AI in the automobile industry and chatbots as business assistants: why was AI Conference 2018 impressive?
On April 19, Smile-Expo held a large event in Moscow – AI Conference 2018 dedicated to the use of artificial intelligence in business.
It was the second international conference of such a level, where specialists from leading companies of the world spoke about capabilities of artificial intelligence in medicine, finance, retail, automobile industry, and service robotics.
Headliners of the event were Head of competence center for applied data analysis PwC, Russia Oleg Danilchenko, CEO of VisionLabs Alexander Khanin, Deep Learning R&D Engineer of NVIDIA Dmitry Korobchenko, Senior Technical Evangelist at Microsoft Dmitry Soshnikov.
Field-specific conference
Conference participants discussed capabilities of artificial intelligence for business optimization, increase in profits, improvement in quality of provided services, application of existing AI tools in different areas. Experts told which tools could be deployed to implement artificial intelligence in various projects.
Thus, Oleg Danilchenko, Head of competence center for applied data analysis PwC, Russia shared data on economic benefits from the use of artificial intelligence in different areas. Most of advantages will go to fuel and energy complex ($1.7 trillion), manufacturing ($4 trillion), and retail ($2 trillion).
According to Roman Davydov, investment banker, founder of SKOLKOVO Private Banking & Wealth Management Сlub, 52% of banks invest money in solutions based on AI algorithms.
Rostislav Plankin, CEO of Marketingbot, designed a chatbot especially for the conference, which allowed our guest to follow the latest conference news and talk to speakers and exhibitors.
Stanislav Kladov, architect at IBM Client Center in Moscow, spoke about the development of chatbots.
Startup battle and exhibition area
Apart from presentations, AI Conference 2018 offered a startup battle, where 14 projects participated. Startup ChatFirst became the winner by presenting a virtual assistant intended to automate HR processes. The award included a promotional package from the crowdfunding platform Boomstarter and a certificate for participation in the exhibition area of AI Conference in 2019 free of charge.
Silver went to the instantaneous redesign service Ukit AI. The third place was taken by the social and educational project PR Education.
Traditionally, the exhibition area was available at the conference. Attendees could get acquainted with booths of Just AI, Mind Simulation, Data Monsters, IBM, PwC, PR Story, Inspector Cloud.
