It is about time when Italian scientists begin to study vape industry. It is Professor Umberto Tirelli, Director of the Medical Oncology Department at the National Cancer Institute in Aviano, Italy, that followed this way. As it turned out, Tirelli has been advocating for the use of e-cigarettes in order to quit smoking. Moreover, he considers e-cigs may prevent cancers.
According to Proff. Tirelli and his colleagues from the European Institute of Oncology and the University of Catania, vapor is not carcinogenic and may be helpful for smokers giving up the habit. However, they didn’t manage to get encouragement from governments and health facilities.
Umberto Tirelli came up with other methods to stop smoking. Compared to vaping they turned out to have modest success. The important thing about vape cigarettes is that they are able to maintain psychological comfort for those leaving off vicious habit with no carcinogenic combustion products hit their lungs.
Professor is concerned about such a negative attitude of the government to vaping. The amount of tumors caused by harmful cigarette smoke in Italy is growing year by year. Tobacco is responsible for around 30% of all deaths.
Proff. Tirelli also provided an example of England, were the government supports vapes. However, as a consequence of Italy’s harsh legislation, vaping has a long way to go and a lot of difficulties to overcome to grow in popularity in the country.
